Se faisant passer pour Daba Diop sur Facebook, Pape Diadji Diop, étudiant en master 1 à la Faculté des lettres de l’Ucad, est inculpé d’avoir violé, volé et escroqué vingt-cinq jeunes filles. En effet, il avait deux comptes sur Facebook sous les noms de Daba Diop et Aïssatou Ndiaye. Après avoir été abusée, dépossédée de son portable et d’une somme d’argent par son bourreau, la nuit du 6 au 7 janvier 2017, ce n’est que deux jours plus tard que Fatou Diagne, l’une des victimes, s’est rendue à la police afin de porter plainte contre celui-ci. Interpellé par les enquêteurs de la brigade de Colobane, Papa Diadji Diop sera inculpé pour viol, vol et escroquerie, puis placé sous mandat de dépôt le 2 février dernier.
