A gigantic cloud of dust known as "Haboob" advances over Khartoum 29 April 2007. These seasonal type of monsoons can reach a height of 3000 feet and can change the landscape in the few hours they last. Climate change experts from around the world are holding a meeting in Bangkok to find ways of lowering emissions of greenhouse gases to head off the worst effects of global warming. Des tempêtes de sable ont balayé tôt ce mardi matin les environs de la ville de Boghé faisant 9 morts et 26 blessés, après que les huttes des victimes se soient écroulées sur eux.
Les blessés ont été évacués vers l’hôpital de la ville d’Aleg. Dans une déclaration à la radio Mauritanie, le Wali du Brakna a confirmé cette information, ajoutant que 4 blessés dont la situation est grave ont été évacués à l’hôpital de Nouakchott.
Scénario identique dans la ville de Kiffa où les vents violents ont provoqué la chute de certaines habitations faisant 5 morts et des blessés.
