Abdoul Mbaye s’est ajouté à la liste des personnalités qui ont rendu visite à Khalifa Sall. Le Premier ministre du premier gouvernement de Macky Sall a expliqué avoir fait ce déplacement pour marquer son soutien et sa solidarité à Khalifa Sall. Abdoul Mbaye a aussi révélé que « s’il admire l’édile de Dakar mis en prison, c’est parce qu’il est resté serein face à l’épreuve qu’il traverse.

Abdoul Mbaye est du camp des souteneurs du maire de Dakar, Khalifa Sall. L’édile de la capitale sénégalaise qui est sous le coup d’un mandat de dépôt pour des malversations présumées dans la gestion des fonds de la caisse d’avance de la mairie de Dakar a reçu hier la visite de l’ancien premier ministre Abdoul Mbaye. Ce dernier passé oppsant après avoir occupé le poste de Premier ministre du premier gouvernement de Macky Sall s’est rendu lundi à la Prison centrale de Rebeuss. Le leader du Parti de l’Alliance pour la Citoyenneté et le Travail (Act) a déclaré que la visite faite au maire de Dakar est une façon pour lui de lui témoigne toute « sa solidarité et son soutien face aux dures épreuves qu’il traverse en ce moment».Abdou Mbaye a fait savoir qu’en faisant le déplacement à Rebeuss, son objectif est d’encouragé Khalifa Sall qui est mis en prison depuis plus d’un mois sur la base d’ accusation de détournement de deniers publics et de faux et usage de faux en écriture publique. Vrai ou faux, en tout cas pour Abdoul Mbaye qui lui a rendu visite, il a fait savoir qu’ à l’endroit de Khalifa Sall, il n’a qu’ admiration.Comme si cela ne suffit pas pour marque de soutien , le leader du Parti de l’Alliance pour la Citoyenneté et le Travail (Act) a ajouté qu’il « loue la sérénité que le maire de Dakar affiche en ces moment d’ épreuve. Pour rappel, c’est à la suite d’une mission de l’Inspection générale d’Etat ( Ige) que Khalifa Sall et ses proches collaborateurs ont été arrêtés. Son emprisonnement est intervenu à un moment où le maire de Dakar est en tiraillement avec Tanor Dieng pour la poursuite ou non du compagnonnage avec Macky Sall. Si les souteneurs de l’édile de Dakar affirment que sa mise en prison obéit à une volonté de briser son avenir politique pour l’autre camp qui n’est pas avec lui, Khalifa Sall est la cause de ce qui lui arrive en ayant pas géré dans les règles, des fonds publics qui lui ont été confiés.
