L’équipe du Maroc n’a plus qu’une étape à franchir pour réussir son pari : remporter le Championnat d’Afrique des nations (CHAN 2018) à domicile. La sélection marocaine s’est en effet qualifiée pour la première finale d’un grand tournoi séniors depuis celle de la CAN 2004. Le 4 février à Casablanca, elle défiera ainsi le Nigeria, tombeur 1-0 du Soudan.
Pour parvenir à ce résultat, les « Lions de l’Atlas » ont dû écarter la Libye, en demi-finale du CHAN 2018, ce 31 janvier à Casablanca. Une tâche qui aurait pu être nettement plus simple si les Marocains avaient été efficaces en première période.
