107 pêcheurs sénégalais sont en souffrance en Guinée Bissau. Ils ont été arrêtés par les gardes côtes de ce pays voisin. Les pêcheurs en cause, sont partis de Mbour à la recherche d’eaux poissonneuses. Mais, lorsqu’ils ont franchi les eaux de ce pays, ils ont été interceptés par les gardes côtes de la Guinée qui leur ont mis le grappin dessus.
En fait, invités à présenter l’autorisation qui leur donne droit à cette pêche, ils n’ont pu le faire. Les pêcheurs étaient dans 14 pirogues pour un total de 107 individus. À Mbour d’où ils sont partis à la recherche du poisson rare, leurs collègues lancent un cri de détresse. Ils
appellent les autorités à intervenir. C’est par le biais de certains d’entre eux
que leurs collègues ont été informés que leur arrestation est motivée par le
défaut de licence de pêche. Pour tirer d’affaire leurs camarades arrêtés, les pécheurs sénégalais qui sont en Guinée renseignent s’être rendus à l’ambassade du Sénégal en Guinée Bissau à plus reprises mais en vain.
Pour clamer leur innocence, les pêcheurs arrêtés déclarent ignorer les limites frontalières des eaux qui séparent le Sénégal à la Guinée. Ce n’est pas la première fois que des
pêcheurs sénégalais sont arrêtés en Guinée. Si ce n’est pas dans ce pays, c’est en Mauritanie qu’ils connaissent des ennuis avec le même motif : absence d’autorisation de pêche.
Que ce soit la Guinée Bissau comme la Mauritanie, ces deux pays voisins du
Sénégal qui accueillent une forte communauté d’étrangers, protègent leurs ressources halieutiques qui donnent du travail à leurs populations.
