Les éléments du Commissariat de Police de Dieupeul ont alpagué dans une banque sise au rond du Jet-d’Eau un marchand ambulant repondant au nom L. Guèye. Ce dernier qui est domicilié à Grand-Yoff, était détenteur d’un chèque falsifié d’un montant d’un million Cfa.
C’est au moment où le quidam voulait entrer dans ses fonds que le chèque suspect a été détecté au niveau de la Caisse. Il ignorait certainement qu’au niveau de cette banque, tout chèque d’un montant supérieur ou égal à 800.000 Cfa doit faire obligatoirement l’objet d’une validation par le propriétaire du compte. Étant donné que celui-ci n’a pas ordonné à personne de procéder à un quelconque retrait sur ses avoirs, le mis en cause était alors mal barré.
Dans la foulée, la responsable de ladite structure financière qui a failli être floué, a aussitôt câblé les hommes du Commissaire Sène. Sans désemparer, les redoutables flics de la Brigade de recherches dudit Commissariat ont effectués une descente sur les lieux aux fins d’intervention et d’interpellation du suspect. Après avoir été cravaté, le sieur L. Guèye qui était visiblement petit dans ses souliers, a été conduit manu-militari au poste de police.
Soumis au feu roulant des policiers-enquêteurs, il a reconnu sans ambages les faits qui lui sont reprochés. Toutefois, pour se tirer d’affaires, il a déclaré qu’il a été manipulé par un inconnu qu’il a voulu tout simplement aider. Ces explications n’ont pas du tout convaincu les enquêteurs. Au vu des indices graves et concordants de nature à motiver son inculpation, il a été placé en position de garde-à-vue au niveau de la Chambre de sûreté du poste de police. Au terme de cette procédure, le sieur L. Guèye a été déféré hier au parquet du Procureur.
