Précisions sur le « décès » de Iba Der Thiam

Alors que beaucoup de sites internet sénégalais ont annoncé ce vendredi, après-midi, le décès du professeur Iba Der Thiam, la Commission de l’Histoire Générale du Sénégal dément à travers un communiqué parvenu à notre rédaction.

Le professeur est en vie et en bonne santé. Cependant, il est en deuil car son homonyme a été rappelé à Dieu ce vendredi 22 juin. L’inhumation a eu lieu à Touba le même jour.

« Chères toutes, chers tous. Suite aux supputations de ces dernières heures sur un éventuel décès du Professeur Iba Der Thiam, la Commission Communication de l’Histoire Générale du Sénégal vous informe que c’est son homonyme qui est décédé ce matin et a été enterré à Touba tout à l’heure. You should watch the Cusack/Jayston version (1973), which is not only faithful to the book but is splendidly acted, and the 1983 version (Dalton/Clarke), which also follows the book, only from my point of view lacks chemistry between gorgeous Rochester, nicely portrated by Dalton, and not so brilliant Zelah in the main role.

  10. Saw you all on Homestead last night and I can’t wait to join in next month! However, I would like to raise a concern that this was quite disruptive to motor vehicle traffic and seemed dangerous for many of the bikers. I literally felt like I was playing chicken with 4 or 5 cars and 4or 5 bikers all at the same time, just so I could get off of Homestead…I live right there and saw bikes going by for a solid hour, taking up both lanes of traffic, at dusk…please ride safe!

Inaction can absolutely be more ethical, at times, than even the action we’d think is done in the “right” way–I tried to intentionally present, in class, some scenarios where not doing anything is the safer ethical choice.   20. Just finished my night shift here in freezing cold England, couldn’t wait to get home and see this. Never had a boubt you’d pull it off, great stuff. My gym is open for the first time this year so its chest, shoulders and tri’s today, faverite day .Peace
