The only movie I ever walked out of was “critically acclaimed.” Some of the books I disliked the most were “critically acclaimed.” I do think that the honest opinions of people who have read the book in question are just as valid as a famous critic’s or reviewer’s opinion. ALL reviews are the opinion of the writers.

Since he’s a great guest, there ought to be a way to lure him away from Brazil, so in the future he can be in the studio and not doing a blogginheads thing from his living room. It might make the difference of tens of thousands of lives.

  13. Mosnews was only on the internet. There was no print version. The Moscow News, however, is available in a printed format — if you look long and hard enough for it… Though distribution is rumored to have improved.Quality of Mosnews articles… no idea.

  14. Tim McHad to stay home sick today, so it gave me a chance to watch the live video of 3rd service. This is truly excellent to be able to do this. Now i start to understand the real potential of our web presence. The audio was pretty good and right in sync with video (i’m assuming it’s just FOH stereo feed to the encoder). Frame rate was good–only an occasional drop, watching fullscreen on 24″ mon. Tested download speed here was 11.2Mbps and typical latency. Only negative comment: image is too dark; i hope there’s a setting in the Matrox encoder that can improve this.

  16. I'm sure you're right, Keren. I just always look at the Carnegie list and think it often looks rather grim and adult for a 'children's' prize list. Of course that's a generalisation though. The regional prizes, mainly chosen by the children themselves feature quite different books though. Which I always find interesting.Good luck with the chicklit(ish) book! I shall look out for it! 🙂

HiLove the pictures, in july we traveled from Transnistria to Odessa by small mini bus and lots of the landscape was like in the photos.I found people to be very hospitable and welcomed you into there country, i can respect the people who live from the land and coming from a country that most things are available for most people but you can’t buy happiness which Moldovan people seem to have from the music to the wonderful country.I travel back to Transnistria again in January
