Pour obtenir la liberté provisoire, le maire de Dakar ne s’est pas seulement limité à l’introduction d’une simple demande. Des biens immobiliers dont la valeur dépasse le montant le montant à lui reproché (1,8 milliard Cfa) a été mis sur la table du juge. “Nous vous avons communiqué ce matin 12 rapports d’expertise et 12 titres de propriétés. S’il y a des contestations, vous nous désignez un expert, on va le voir pour faire les contre-expertises nécessaires”, a déclaré l’avocat lors de sa plaidoirie.
Me Seydou Diagne et ses confrères ont aussi dénoncé l’absence de transmission du dossier à qui de droit. “Notre dossier est chez le procureur. Il ne l’a pas transmis au juge d’instruction. Nous dénonçons vivement cela”.
Il a en outre pesté contre Serigne Bassirou Guèye qui, dit-il, n’a pas respecté la présomption d’innocence du maire de Dakar qu’il a accusé ouvertement d’avoir détourné de l’argent. “C’est une violation flagrante. Il les a accusés d’avoir commis un détournement de deniers publics”, dit-il avant de relever une inégalité d’armes entre les deux camps.
