Le rapport 2017-2018 d’Amnesty international sur la situation des droits de l’homme au Sénégal relève des atteintes aux droits à la liberté de réunion, d’expression, des procès inéquitables, mais pour le ministre de la Justice, ce rapport “n’est pas crédible, parce que notre pays s’illustre par sa vocation à respecter et à sacraliser les droits”.
“Les droits à la liberté de réunion pacifique et à la liberté d’expression sont restés soumis à des restrictions. Les conditions de détention demeuraient particulièrement dures. Des enfants ont cette année encore été contraints à mendier dans la rue. Rien n’a été fait pour empêcher les auteurs de violations des droits humains de bénéficier de l’impunité“, lit-on dans le document.
Réagissant à la publication de ce rapport, le ministre de la Justice Ismaïla Madior Fall a déclaré, selon l’Aps, “qu’ il faut d’abord prendre le temps de lire le rapport de façon sereine pour identifier tous les points soulevés et formuler les réponses adéquates“.
