Alain Giresse a démissionné de son poste de sélectionneur national du Mali, a appris APA jeudi auprès de l’adjoint du technicien français, Vieux Pathé Diallo, et du président de la fédération malienne de football, le général Baba Diarra.
Selon ce dernier, ‘’Alain Giresse a dit n’être pas en mesure de tenir psychologiquement et dit aussi craindre pour sa sécurité.’’
D’après plusieurs sources, Alain Giresse voulait quitter son poste, après la lourde défaite de 6 bus à 0, infligée aux Aigles par le Maroc, le 1er septembre dernier, en match comptant pour les éliminatoires de la coupe du monde de football 2018.
Son entourage l’en avait dissuadé en le priant d’attendre la manche retour, jouée mardi à Bamako et qui s’est soldée par un match nul 0-0.
Alain avait dirigé pour la première fois l’équipe du Mali lors de la CAN 2012 où elle s’était classée troisième. Revenu au Mali en 2015, il n’avait pu atteindre pareil résultat.
Pire, les Aigles ont été éliminés dès la phase de poule lors de la CAN 2017. Actuellement, et à deux matchs de la fin du tournoi de qualifications, le Mali est dernier de son groupe, avec deux petits points.
Ces dernières semaines, les appels à la démission d’Alain Giresse se sont multipliés à cause des mauvais résultats enregistrés par l’équipe nationale de football du Mali.
