Le Fmi a procédé, le lundi 30 octobre, à la publication de son rapport sur les perspectives économiques régionales de l’Afrique Subsaharienne, autour du thème : «Ajustement budgétaire et la diversité économique».
Dans ce sens, le Fmi s’est félicité de l’auto-croissance du Sénégal, avec 6,8% en 2017, grâce notamment aux investissements qui ont des effets positifs.
Toutefois, malgré ces motifs de satisfaction, l’institution financière s’inquiète du niveau de la dette en Afrique d’une manière générale et au Sénégal.
«Dans la zone Uemoa, on a un niveau de dette qui avoisine en moyenne 50%. Au Sénégal, elle est même un peu plus élevée que ça, elle frôle les 60%. Ce sont quand même des niveaux qui commencent à inquiéter», a déclaré le directeur adjoint du département Afrique du Fmi Roger Nord, qui conseille de s’assurer à ce que les dettes restent à un niveau gérable afin d’éviter le pire.
