Aliou Cissé vient de décrocher la 2e qualification du Sénégal à un mondial. En dépit des nombreuses critiques, Cissé affirme n’avoir jamais douté de la capacité de son groupe à décrocher une qualification.
«C’est une grande satisfaction pour le groupe que j’entraîne depuis 3 ans et pour le peuple aussi, qui a toujours été présent même dans les moments les plus difficiles.
Ils ont cru en nous et au travail que nous sommes en train de réaliser depuis 3 ans», a-t-il expliqué en conférence de presse d’après match (2-0).
Et de souligner: «Je n’ai jamais douté de la capacité de mon équipe à décrocher cette qualification. Je n’oublierai jamais ce qui s’est passé lors du premier match ici (ndlr : en Afrique du Sud).
Donc, c’était important pour nous de montrer que nous sommes une grande équipe avec de grands joueurs. Aujourd’hui, on a montré à la terre entière que le Sénégal demeure le Sénégal et fait partie des meilleures équipes africaines», se félicite Cissé.
