Le gouvernement sénégalais a demandé vendredi aux autorités libyennes compétentes de “diligenter sans délai une enquête” sur la vente, sur le territoire libyen, de migrants originaires d’Afrique subsaharienne, a-t-on appris de source officielle.
“Le Sénégal engage les autorités libyennes compétentes, ainsi que l’Union africaine et l’Organisation des Nations unies, à diligenter sans délai une enquête sur cette pratique d’un autre âge, afin que toutes les dispositions soient prises pour y mettre fin”, écrit le ministère des Affaires étrangères et des Sénégalais de l’extérieur dans un communiqué transmis à l’APS.
Selon le texte, le gouvernement sénégalais “dénonce avec vigueur et condamne de la manière la plus ferme” ce trafic d’êtres humains qui constitue “une grave offense à la conscience de l’humanité”.
Des journalistes de la chaîne américaine CNN ont diffusé récemment un reportage, en caméra cachée, sur une vente aux enchères d’êtres humains, en Libye, non loin de la capitale, Tripoli.
Plusieurs intellectuels, animateurs, responsables politiques de partout dans le monde se sont indignés de ces pratiques.
En avril déjà, l’Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM) avait fait savoir que la traite d’êtres humains était devenue “une pratique de plus en plus fréquente” chez les passeurs de migrants.
