Dakar, 25 mars (APS) – Le Grand Serigne de Dakar Abdoulaye Makhtar Diop s’est engagé à jouer un rôle de facilitateur pour ‘’sauver l’école sénégalaise’’ en proie à des perturbations depuis des mois, a appris l’APS.
M. Diop, également député, a pris cet engagement lors d’une audience avec le chef de l’Etat Macky Sall, indique la présidence dans un communiqué reçu à l’APS.
‘’Le Vice-président de l’Assemblée nationale s’engage à jouer un rôle de facilitateur pour sauver l’école sénégalaise. Abdoulaye Makhtar Diop salue par ailleurs l’intérêt que le président de la République porte à l’éducation et sa préoccupation à l’amélioration des conditions des enseignants’’, lit-on dans ce document.
La même source précise que le Grand Serigne de Dakar était également au Palais ‘’pour échanger avec le chef de l’Etat sur la situation sociale du pays’’.
Le secteur de l’éducation est fortement perturbé par le mouvement de l’intersyndicale du G6 qui exige “l’augmentation substantielle de toutes les indemnités notamment celles du logement et le respect de tous les accords signés”.
Le chef de l’Etat Macky Sall a récemment invité les enseignants à reprendre les cours, en vue de préserver “le leadership international de l’école sénégalaise et des structures universitaires nationales”.
Le gouvernement a entamé des négociations avec les syndicats d’enseignants au sujet de leurs revendications, mais ces discussions achoppent sur la question de l’indemnité de logement.
