Le représentant du défunt khalife général des mourides Cheikh Sidy Mokhtar Mbackè à Oukam, Ngor, Yoff et Cambéréne a organisé dimanche une journée de prières à la mémoire du disparu. Cheikh Mansour Diop, qui est par ailleurs ambassadeur de bonne volonté de la fédération pour la paix universelle (Fpu International) a présenté en son nom et au nom de ladite alliance internationale ses condoléances au Sénégal. En présence de délégations venues représenter les diverses communautés religieuses du Sénégal qui se sont associées à cette journée, il a rendu un hommage appuyé à Cheikh Sidy Mokhtar Mbackè dont il salue l’action fédératrice. Précisant par la même occasion que ce dernier était attaché au fief de la communauté léboue qu’est Yoff. «Cheikh Sidy Mokhtar Mbackè avait une longue histoire traditionnelle avec Yoff. Pour ceux qui ne le savaient pas, il a commencé à fréquenter Yoff en 1946. Et c’est lui-même qui me l’avait déclaré devant tous les notables de Yoff que j’avais emmené là-bas en visite de courtoisie. Moi-même qui fus son représentant ici à Yoff, Ngor, Ouakam et Cambéréne il m’a toujours accompagné. La preuve deux semaines avant son décès il m’a convoqué chez lui, il a prié pour moi, il m’a remercié et il m’a même remis un cadeau. Et c’est quand on m’a annoncé son décès je sais compris qu’il me disait adieu» assure Cheikh Mansour Diop. Président du sommet mondial pour la paix qui s’ouvre jeudi à Dakar, sous la présidence de Macky Sall, il a salué l’impact de cette rencontre au plan géostratégique. «Il s’agit à travers ce sommet de regrouper au Sénégal des parlementaires, des chefs religieux, des leaders traditionnels et j’en passe pour, pendant deux jours, discuter, réfléchir et communier autour de ce qui est indispensable à la vie humaine et même à la vie à l’au-delà : la paix. Ce qui explique que jeudi prochain Dakar sera la capitale de la paix dans le monde sous la présidence du président Macky Sall que je remercie au passage parce qu’il n’a ménagé aucun effort pour encourager, autoriser et accompagner ce processus qui mène vers ce sommet dont j’en suis sûr les conclusions contribueront fortement à asseoir une paix solide, durable et stable dans le monde» annonce Cheikh Mansour Diop.
