La langue none de la communauté Thiaguine de Fandène (Thiès) est à l’honneur, cette année, dans le cadre de la célébration de la Journée internationale de la langue maternelle au Sénégal. Une manière de promouvoir cette langue soumise à l’appréciation des enfants, dès le préscolaire, dans cette commune.
Cette année, le ministère de l’Education nationale a porté son choix sur l’Académie de Thiès en général et la commune de Fandène en particulier, pour abriter la cérémonie officielle de la Journée internationale de la langue maternelle. Cette décision n’est pas fortuite, selon le responsable régional de l’alphabétisation à l’Inspection d’académie de Thiès, Modou Ndiaye. Ce dernier renseigne qu’il s’agit là de rendre hommage à la communauté Thiaguine qui a su introduire la langue maternelle none dans le cycle préscolaire. ‘’Le ministère de l’Education nationale a décidé de célébrer la journée du 21 février 2018 à Fandène, pour honorer la communauté Thiaguine. Dans cette communauté, il y a ce qu’on appelle la langue none. Les Sérères Nones de Fandène ont instrumenté l’introduction de la langue maternelle none dans le préscolaire. C’est ce qui leur a valu cet honneur’’, confie-t-il.
D’ailleurs, cette décision fait écho au thème de cette année : ‘’Préservation des diversités linguistiques dans le monde et la promotion du multilinguisme en vue de réaliser les objectifs du développement durable (Odd).’’ Ainsi, Modou Ndiaye soutient qu’un enfant peut ‘’bel et bien appréhender le monde à travers sa langue maternelle, sa langue première’’. D’après lui, cela est un atout pour l’enfant. ‘’Le multilinguisme a beaucoup d’avantages pour l’enfant. Mais, avant d’apprendre une autre langue, l’enfant doit apprendre, d’abord, sa propre langue maternelle. Au Sénégal, on a codifié 22 langues maternelles. Il y a une avancée notoire, parce que rien qu’en 2002, il y avait six langues. Depuis, des efforts ont été consentis par des linguistes et des communautés. Par contre, il reste d’autres langues minoritaires à codifier’’, précise M. Ndiaye.
