Le président turc est à Paris, vendredi 5 janvier. C’est sa première visite officielle en France depuis la tentative de putsch de l’été 2016. Après une année 2017 très tendue avec les pays de l’UE, Recep Tayyip Erdogan semble avoir adopté un ton plus conciliant ces dernières semaines vis-à-vis de l’Europe. Sauf que sur le fond, les incompréhensions sont toujours aussi nombreuses.
Des relations apaisées, des querelles diplomatiques oubliées, c’est un peu le ton que veut donner Ankara à cette visite. Déjà, en décembre, Recep Tayyip Erdogan a salué la position européenne lors de la crise sur le statut de Jérusalem. En fin d’année, il a souhaité pour 2018 de « bonnes relations » avec l’Europe.
Mais au-delà du ton reste à voir si cette visite aura de véritables conséquences, surtout que vu de Turquie c’est l’Allemagne qui est le principal interlocuteur européen.
Des dossiers compliqués
Au programme de cette visite : un chapitre économique, mais aussi des dossiers compliqués : Syrie, Iran, militants du PKK et sympathisants de Fethullah Gülen en Europe qu’Ankara voudrait voir extradés.
Et quant à la question des droits de l’homme et de la liberté de la presse qu’Emmanuel Macron a dit vouloir évoquer, la présidence turque a déjà répondu et sur ce dossier n’a pas changé de ton : le président français est mal informé et Recep Tayyip Erdogan pourra lui expliquer. Lire la suite
