Les Échos rapporte que devant la Cour supérieur du comté de Wake, El Hadji Seydou Diop a plaidé non coupable pour les deux meurtres. Une surprise pour les avocats et la famille des victimes. L’accusé ayant initialement accepté de plaider coupable, ce qui lui aurait évité la peine capitale ou la perpétuité, en cas de condamnation.
