Quand on lui pose la question de la présidence écourtée prévue par l’accord qu’il a signé – alors qu’il n’était que candidat – le président Adama Barrow reste toujours très flou. « Ça faisait partie de l’accord pour que les partis d’oppositions se rassemblent », convient-il. Il devait gouverner juste le temps de jeter les bases de la transition, avant d’appeler à de nouvelles élections pour que chaque parti puisse présenter son propre candidat. « Mais la Constitution indique 5 ans », souligne le chef de l’Etat. « Ce sera au peuple gambien de décider, on lui demandera son avis », conclut-il, sans préciser de quelle façon.
