Les syndicats d’enseignants luttent-ils pour la défense des intérêts matériels et moraux de leurs membres ? Le «clergé» syndical travaille-t-il pour sa propre promotion ? En tout cas, le syndicalisme, naguère un sacerdoce des patriotes soucieux du développement socioéconomique de leur pays et de l’épanouissement de leurs compatriotes, est aujourd’hui devenu un moyen d’ascension sociale. Cette nouvelle race de syndicalistes qu’un ministre de la République surnommait les « syndikhalisse », en référence à leur trop grand penchant pour l’argent, ont carrément dévoyé la lutte des classes ouvrières à l’autel de leurs intérêts matériels.
Il est de notoriété publique que, de par le passé, notre pays eut à jouer un rôle précurseur dans le syndicalisme continental. Aussi, le syndicalisme national tire-t-il sa force de ce passé glorieux empreint de militantisme désintéressé, de hardiesse et d’engagement. En réalité, les organisations de défense des intérêts moraux et matériels des travailleurs ont toujours été à l’avant-garde du développement socioéconomique et de l’épanouissement de la population active.
