Dakar, 5 mars (APS) – L’Accord de coopération inter-Etats conclu par le Sénégal et la Mauritanie vise à satisfaire les intérêts des peuples mauritanien et sénégalais plutôt que des deux Etats concernés, affirme le président mauritanien Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.
“Nous n’avons pas cherché à satisfaire les intérêts de nos États, mais ceux de nos deux peuples car, en exploitant rapidement ce gisement, nous améliorerons leurs conditions de vie”, a dit le président Aziz, dans un entretien paru sur le site du magazine panafricain Jeune Afrique.
Il fait ainsi référence à l’Accord de coopération inter-Etats (ACI) portant sur le développement et l’exploitation des réservoirs du champ Grand Tortue/Ahmeyim, à cheval sur les deux pays.
Cet accord avait été signé par les présidents Macky Sall et Aziz, le 9 février dernier à Nouakchott, au cours d’une visite officielle de deux jours du président sénégalais Macky Sall.
Aux termes de cet accord, le Sénégal et la Mauritanie ont ainsi convenu de se partager équitablement la production du champ gazier Grand Tortue Ahmeyin (GTA).
