La présente chronique oscille entre les bas-fonds nauséabonds de la politique sénégalaise et les pitons (les hauteurs aromatisées) de la démocratie sud-africaine. Ainsi va l’actualité qui sert, à sa guise, des ronces et des roses ; des beignets délicieux et des brouets peu ragoûtants. Au Sénégal, la politique est inexorablement ravagée par la transhumance et la pirouette. Deux pathologies qui – tels la lèpre et ses stigmates – défigurent et dévaluent la démocratie. Les pirouettes de Bamba Fall (le Maire de la Médina) en sont une moche et suffocante illustration. Quels que soient les ressorts cachés et les mobiles camouflés de sa toute nouvelle et très équivoque posture, Bamba Fall a, d’ores et déjà, dérouté et déboussolé tous ceux qui accordent une attention au procès de Khalifa Sall dont le proche épilogue aura une incidence sur le destin de la démocratie sénégalaise
C’est la girouette, Bamba Fall, qui tourne ou c’est le vent qui tourne ? Apparemment, un vent fort (pression, chantage etc.) a rencontré une disponibilité et une envie de tourner…casaque. Dommage que le Maire de la Médina soit plus porté sur l’action que sur la réflexion ! S’il était féru de culture et, surtout, friand de pensées politiques, il aurait très tôt assimilé la leçon de Stefan Zweig : « En politique et dans la vie, les demi-mesures et les hypocrisies font toujours plus de mal que les décisions nettes et énergiques ». Leçon sur la quelle on peut greffer le rappel d’Albert Brie : « En politique, s’expliquer c’est mentir, mais en beaucoup plus de mots ». Effectivement, les explications publiques du Maire de la Médina sont de faible facture.
