Cette information serait passée inaperçue s’il n’existait aucun lien entre le cursus d’Abou Ahmed al Foulani et le Sénégal. En effet, selon Mouhamed Mahmoud Aboul Mouhali, un fin connaisseur des mouvements jihadistes du Sahel contacté par Dakaractu, Al Foulani a séjourné au Sénégal en tant qu’Imam et prédicateur. Ce, après avoir étudié le droit islamique pendant 7 ans au Burkina Faso où le GSIM vient de commettre un double attentat en riposte au raid français qui a quasiment décimé le GSIM.
Dakaractu a cherché à en savoir davantage sur le passage d’Abu Ahmed Al Foulani au Sénégal mais tout ce qu’il a découvert se limite, pour l’heure, aux fonctions occupées jusqu’à ce qu’il soit tué par Barkhane, au sein du Front du Macina dont le commandant en chef est Amadou Kouffa, un peul malien proche d’Iyad Ag Ghali.
