Un centre d’études islamiques régional ouest-africain va ouvrir en Mauritanie. Ce centre sera géré par la grande intsitution et autorité de l’islam sunnite, l’université Al-Azhar du Caire. C’est le grand imam d’Al-Azhar en visite en Mauritanie cette semaine qui l’a annoncé. Ce centre d’enseignement sera destiné à accueillir des étudiants des pays de la sous-région et devrait voir le jour rapidement selon les autorités mauritaniennes. Avec ce nouveau centre, la Mauritanie devrait conforter un peu plus son statut de terre d’enseignement islamique.
Hassan Ashaari. C’est le nom qui sera donné au nouveau centre d’études islamiques de Nouakchott. Un nom qui donne le ton de l’enseignement qui sera proposé. Ce célèbre théologien est en effet le fondateur de l’école ashaarit, une branche importante de l’islam sunnite qui prône la tolérance et refuse le takfirisme, précise notre correspondant au Caire, Alexandre Buccianti. Le takfirisme est le fait de décréter mécréant une personne, un groupe ou même des pays. Les extrémistes musulmans sont qualifiés de takfiristes par les grandes autorités de l’islam sunnite.
