Les accidents de la circulation constituent une grande préoccupation pour les plus hautes autorités de ce pays. Eu égard à leur recrudescence, le président de la République a demandé au Premier ministre ‘’d’accentuer la mise en œuvre rigoureuse de toutes les mesures interministérielles arrêtées, visant à améliorer, significativement et durablement, la circulation et la sécurité routières’’.
A ce titre, il invite le gouvernement, les services de transport routier et les forces de défense et de sécurité en particulier, ‘’à intensifier les actions préventives de contrôle des documents officiels de transport, de l’état technique des véhicules de transport interurbains, ainsi que des gros-porteurs en circulation sur nos routes’’.
