Dakar, 27 mars (APS) – Le chef de l’Etat sénégalais Macky Sall a appelé mardi à Kigali (Rwanda) les jeunes Africains à rester exigeants avec eux-mêmes et à ne pas se contenter du “discours lénifiant” faisant de l’Afrique le continent de l’avenir.
“L’Afrique ne doit pas se contenter du discours lénifiant faisant d’elle le continent de l’avenir. Non. Nous devons être plus exigeants sur nous-mêmes”, a déclaré le président Macky Sall, à l’ouverture du Next Einstein Forum, dans la capitale rwandaise
“Nous devons travailler à être les acteurs qui transforment le présent pour façonner le futur. L’économie du savoir nous en offre la chance. C’est à nous de la saisir. C’est à nous de prendre direction, de nous s’inscrire dans le sens de l’histoire ; pas seulement par la parole, mais surtout par les actes. C’est ce qui compte le plus”, a-t-il dit dans un discours dont une copie est parvenue à l’APS.
Selon Macky Sall, l’enjeu pour le continent est de “se donner les moyens de maintenir le rythme du progrès afin de rester au contact de l’économie du savoir, pour ne pas courir le risque de marginalisation”.
“Si l’Afrique est en retard sur la révolution industrielle, elle doit s’arrimer fermement à celle du numérique. Elle en a la capacité, et nos jeunes en ont le talent et l’intelligence”, a insisté le chef de l’Etat sénégalais.
