L’équipe nationale de football ne jouera aucun match de préparation en vue de la Coupe du monde (14 juin au 15 juillet) sur le plan local, a réitéré ce samedi le président de la Fédération sénégalaise de football, Me Augustin Senghor.
‘’Nous tous, nous aurions aimé voir notre sélection se produire localement avant de partir au Mondial mais ce n’est pas matériellement possible’’, a-t-il dit lors de l’assemblée générale ordinaire de l’instance dirigeante du football national.
Dans le programme de préparation des Lions, la Fédération avait misé sur le mois de mars mais ’’les prétentions du Venezuela qui nous a été proposé, étaient hors de portée’’, a expliqué le président de la FSF.
‘’Quant à proposer de jouer en mai, il est hors de question au vu de l’état actuel de la pelouse du stade Léopold Sédar Senghor’’, a-t-il indiqué soulignant que personne n’osera prendre la responsabilité de faire jouer les Lions sur cette aire de jeu.
‘’Elle est en bien mauvais état parce que c’est la seule infrastructure qui abrite les matchs du championnat et des combats de lutte’’, a-t-il rappelé soulignant que l’objectif de la Fédération est d’appeler les gens à s’unir derrière la sélection.
