ONU Femmes : la Gambienne Jaha Dukureh devient la première Ambassadrice de bonne volonté pour l’Afrique

A l’occasion de la Journée internationale de la tolérance zéro pour les mutilations génitales féminines (MGF) célébrée ce mardi 6 février, ONU Femmes, le bras de l’ONU pour la défense des droits des femmes, a nommé sa nouvelle ambassadrice de bonne volonté pour l’Afrique, la première du genre. Jaha Dukureh est désormais Ambassadrice de bonne volonté d’ONU Femmes pour l’Afrique, indique dans un communiqué de presse l’organisation internationale relevant des Nations Unies et dédiée à la promotion de l’égalité des sexes qui a saisi l’occasion de la Journée internationale de la tolérance zéro aux mutations génitales féminines célébrée ce mardi 6 février pour l’annoncer.
Symbole de la lutte anti-MGF
Et l’annonce de sa nomination ce jour ne relève pas d’une coïncidence. Déjà, il s’agit du tout premier poste du genre au sein de cette instance onusienne qui signe cette année huit ans d’existence et Jaha représente un symbole de la lutte anti-MGF et anti-mariage précoce.
Naturalisée américaine en 2015, elle est née en 1989 en Gambie. Une semaine plus tard, elle se fait exciser. En 2004, elle n’a que 15 ans lorsqu’elle est victime d’un mariage arrangé avec un homme beaucoup plus âgé qu’elle rejoint tout de suite aux Etats-Unis. C’est donc au pays de l’Oncle Sam que la jeune fille de l’époque prendra conscience, quelques années plus tard, de ses droits et signera le début de son combat.

One other thing I’d really like to say is the fact that newer pc operating systems are likely to allow much more memory to be played with, but they also demand more storage simply to perform. If a person’s computer cannot handle extra memory as well as newest application requires that memory space increase, it usually is the time to shop for a new Laptop. Thanks

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
