«Le parrainage sera maintenu», a lancé Macky Sall à ses partisans lors du Secrétariat exécutif national (SEN) de l’Alliance pour la République (Apr), hier, mercredi 11 avril. L’AS, qui donne l’information, précise que le chef de l’État a demandé aux responsables de son parti de «porter le combat auprès de l’opinion pour faire comprendre le bien-fondé de son projet».
D’après le journal, Macky Sall a indiqué que l’opposition, qui rejette le parrainage, n’a fait aucune contre-proposition allant dans le sens d’atteindre l’un des buts du projet : «éviter les candidatures fantoches» à la présidentielle.
