Selon Vox Populi, il n’y a rien de nouveau sous le soleil. Avant Serigne Bassirou Guèye, des procureurs comme Lassana Diaby et Demba Kandji ont eu à siéger.
Pour une raison simple, d’après le journal : la nécessité de respecter le parallélisme des formes puisque le président du tribunal de grande instance, Malick Lamotte, a été désigné pour conduire les débats. À la place du juge Magatte Diop, qui avait renvoyé le procès au 3 janvier.
