Ainsi, à la place du ministère de l’Intérieur et de la sécurité publique, via sa Direction générale des élections, Macky concocte un plan de mise en place d’un ministère chargé des élections.
La présidentielle de 2019 devrait être organisée par un ministère chargé des élections. Avec la levée de bouclier de l’opposition au régime de Macky Sall appuyée par des membres de la société civile, l’option de la mise en place d’un ministère chargé des élections est sérieusement envisagée par le Président Sall. La création de ce ministère, nous fait-on savoir, est à bonne étude et devrait aboutir sous peu à un réaménagement ministériel. Mais, cette solution, faut-il le remarquer, pourrait ne pas être suffisante pour mettre un terme aux critiques de l’organisation des élections par le ministère de l’Intérieur. Car, entre un ministère chargé des élections et une Direction générale des élections, la différence pourrait ne pas convenir à l’opposition qui réclame un arbitre des élections neutres. En tout cas, pour ce qui est du ministère chargé des élections à mettre en place, des noms sont pressentis pour le diriger.
