L’information est donnée par l’agence de presse suisse Ecofin qui cite les données par la firme américaine Pertech Venture qui est spécialisé dans le financement des initiatives dans le domaine des technologies.
Selon cette source, l’Afrique en 2016 a réussi à mobiliser 366,8 millions $ pour 77 start-ups. La Côte d’Ivoire et le Sénégal, deux pays de la communauté économique des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest ont mobilisé 19,5 millions $ pour le soutien de leurs start-up.
Le Sénégal a exactement occupé la 9e place, avec un chiffre de 6,5 millions $ d’investissements attirés pour ses start-ups dans le secteur.
