Le Sénégal a célébré mercredi 4 avril sa fête de l’Indépendance. Une journée marquée bien évidement par le défilé militaire. Comme le veut la tradition, c’est le chef des armées Macky Sall qui a présidé cette cérémonie. A moins d’un an de l’élection présidentielle – le premier tour est prévu le 24 février 2019 – le chef de l’Etat a présenté son ambition : rester à la tête du Sénégal.
Symbolique, ce défilé était le dernier du septennat du président Macky Sall. Et le chef de l’Etat, en félicitant les différents corps de l’armée, en annonçant plus de moyens, a laissé entendre qu’il souhaitait poursuivre son action à la tête du Sénégal : « S’il plaît à Dieu, l’année prochaine et les années à venir, nous verrons une montée en puissance de toutes les armées et de toutes les forces paramilitaires. »
Macky Sall a également salué l’énergie des élèves de toutes les écoles de Dakar qui ont défilé sous ses yeux. Jeunesse essentielle selon lui pour développer le pays : « J’ai été particulièrement frappé par l’allure, l’enthousiasme de la jeunesse, et c’est rassurant dans mon entreprise de construction d’un Sénégal prospère et en paix. »
