Il ne vient à aucun homme sensé l’idée que le ministre de l’Intérieur, alors qu’il est suivi par des millions de sénégalais, puisse déclarer, en direct, qu’il va manipuler le processus électoral en faveur de son candidat. C’est un non sens. S’il a pu le laisser croire, ce ne peut donc être le fond de sa pensée. Faire triompher son candidat est sa légitime volonté, en tant qu’il est un leader politique.
Il m’était plus facile de me taire. Mais je ne peux pas laisser mal juger un homme bien, sur la base de propos mal compris, sortis de leur contexte. Il devait se montrer clair pour éviter cette vague d’indignations parfois intéressées, je l’admets. Mais Aly est un patriote et j’invite mes compatriotes qui ont pu douter de ses intentions, à le juger sur ce qu’il fait et ce qu’il va faire. Uniquement”
