Kigali (Rwanda), 21 mars (APS) – Le chef de l’Etat sénégalais, Macky Sall a pris le “ferme engagement” de faire prendre en compte le secteur privé dans la mise en œuvre de la Zone de libre-échange continentale africaine (ZLECA) dont il a signé l’accord-cadre mercredi à Kigali (’Rwanda), en vue d’assurer la protection de “l’industrie sénégalaise naissante”.
Les chefs d’Etat et de gouvernements africains, réunis pour un sommet extraordinaire de l’Union africaine tenue dans la capitale rwandaise, ont apposé leur signature sur l’accord-cadre portant sur la ZLECA, qualifié d’”engagement politique non contraignant”.
Selon Macky Sall, cet accord-cadre de la Zone de libre-échange continentale est “un pilier, un jalon important vers l’intégration africaine” et devrait permettre de “mieux connecter l’Afrique au commerce mondial”.
“L’objectif est de réaliser un marché commun africain dont le processus va entraîner la transformation de nos économies par la mobilisation de tous les acteurs publics comme privés”, a souligné le chef de l’Etat sénégalais, président à Kigali depuis mardi.
Selon le Président Sall, avec ces nouveaux instruments juridiques, “les échanges interafricains (46%) aujourd’hui appréciables vont monter en puissance”.
Il urge toutefois de réfléchir à “une stratégie commerciale pour mieux investir le marché africain, mieux faire connaître nos produits notamment halieutiques et agricoles”, a-t-il préconisé devant ses pairs.
“Si on n’occupe pas l’espace quelqu’un d’autre viendra le faire à notre place”, a souligné Macky Sall, qui a par ailleurs dit sa volonté de doter de moyens conséquents la nouvelle compagnie aérienne sénégalaise afin de l’aider à percer le marché africain.
À la fin du sommet dont l’ordre du jour était axé sur la signature de la ZLECA, le président de la République a eu des séances de travail sur le NEPAD avec ses homologues rwandais, Paul Kagamé, et sud-africain Cyril Ramaphosa.
