17 jeunes ont entamé une grève de la fin pour la libération du maire de Dakar, Khalifa Ababacar Sall, en prison depuis six mois. Retranchés dans la permanence de la coalition Manko Taxawu Sénégal, sise au quartier Sacré-Cœur, ces 17 jeunes dont 9 filles et 8 garçons refusent de s’alimenter et de boire tant que maire de Dakar n’est pas libre.
Leur action est la unième initiative des partisans du maire de Dakar, élu député lors des élections législatives du 30 juillet 2017. En effet, la séance inaugurale de la 13e législature s’ouvre ce jeudi 14 septembre. Les partisans de Khalifa Sall voudraient voir leur leader prendre part à la séance. Récemment le député-maire de Dakar a perdu un de ses grand-frère, sans qu’il puisse assister à l’enterrement.
Khalifa Sall a été arrêté avec 8 autres agents municipaux pour détournement de deniers publics présumé. Ils sont en détention préventive depuis le 7 mars 2017.
