Un avion de transport Antonov de l’armée congolaise s’est écrasé samedi matin à une centaine de kilomètres à l’ouest de Kinshasa, faisant «plusieurs dizaines» de morts parmi les passagers, a-t-on appris de sources concordantes.
L’appareil, qui venait de décoller en direction du Kivu (est), transportait «plusieurs dizaines de personnes», selon une source aéroportuaire qui a requis l’anonymat, et s’est écrasé dans la commune de N’sélé, qui fait partie du grand Kinshasa, à une centaine de km du centre de la capitale congolaise. Il n’y a eu «aucun survivant», selon une source municipale sur place et s’exprimant également sous couvert d’anonymat.
«Entre 20 et 30 personnes à bord»
L’avion, piloté par un équipage russe, transportait «deux véhicules et des munitions» ainsi que les personnels militaires d’accompagnement, selon une source à l’état-major de l’armée. Selon cette source, il y avait «entre 20 et 30 personnes» à bord de l’appareil, qui avait décollé de l’aéroport de Ndolo, dans le centre de la capitale.
Un témoin joint sur les lieux du crash, a indiqué que l’accident s’était produit vers 8h50 et affirmé avoir vu l’avion qui «tombait», mais sans dégagement de fumée apparent. Selon un autre témoin, un lieutenant de l’armée congolaise, l’appareil aurait au contraire pris feu dans le ciel avant de s’écraser et de provoquer une série d’explosions.
Un officier supérieur en charge des opérations de secours a indiqué à l’AFP que la carcasse de l’avion n’était plus qu’un «amas de ferraille» et que le site était jonché de «corps déchiquetés».
