La raison de la grande joie du populaire maire socialiste de la Médina, c’était l’inauguration de l’école primaire El Hadji Nango Samb de Gibraltar. Cet établissement de 8 classes avec une salle informatique et le bureau du directeur, a fait peau neuve grâce à un partenariat public-privé. Le sous-préfet de Dakar-Plateau, Djibril Diallo, a rehaussé de sa présence la cérémonie d’inauguration. Les populations de la Médina et de Gibraltar qui tiennent à leur maire, lui ont réservé une forte mobilisation. Ce dernier a mis les petits plats dans les grands avec une forte participation des artistes comme, le chanteur Birahim, auteur de From Médina.
