Le sous-préfet de Dakar-Plateau, Djibril Diallo, a rehaussé de sa présence la cérémonie d’inauguration. Les populations de la Médina et de Gibraltar qui tiennent à leur maire, lui ont réservé une forte mobilisation. Ce dernier a mis les petits plats dans les grands avec une forte participation des artistes comme, le chanteur Birahim, auteur de From Médina.
