Le maire de Dakar, Khalifa Sall, croupit en prison depuis plus de 10 mois. Son procès a été bouclé la semaine dernière. Le verdict est fixé au 30 mars prochain. Beaucoup d’observateurs avertis de l’espace politique sont convaincus que le député maire de la capitale, Dakar, sera condamné pour l’écarter de la course à la présidentielle de 2019. Du coup, il risque de perdre ses droits civiques et politiques. Hier, dans la parution du jour d’un organe de la place, il a été laissé entendre que des lieutenants seraient de potentiels candidats à la succession de Khalifa Sall, au cas où il se verra condamné.
Parmi eux, le nom de Bamba Fall, maire de la Médina a été cité. Un fidèle parmi les fidèles à Khalifa Sall. Ce que le maire de la Médina a démenti et battu en brèche cette thèse. Mais en aucun cas il ne doit et ne peut être condamné, car il n’a rien fait», soupire M. Fall. S’exprimant lors de la cérémonie de lancement du Projet de lutte contre la mendicité dans les communes de Médina, Colobane Gueule Tapée, Pikine Nord et Diamaguène Sicap Mbao, lancé hier à Pikine Nord, Bamba Fall dit plutôt qu’il est dans la logique de se battre pour faire sortir Khalifa de prison. En outre, malgré ses dernières sorties qui font polémique, l’édile de la Médina a aussi souligné avec fracas que son avenir politique est à côté de Khalifa Sall. «Au moment où je vous parle, je n’ai qu’un seul candidat, c’est Khalifa Sall».
