C’est ici, à Gouy Mbindd, que Serigne Cheikh Sidy Mokhtar a été inhumé dans la nuit du mardi au mercredi 10 janvier 2018. Selon des sources, il a lui-même aménagé cette mausolée, durant les quelques semaines qui ont précédé le jour de son rappel à Dieu.
