Suite à l’incendie qui s’est produit au Daaka de Médina Gounass causant plus d’une vingtaine de morts et des dégâts matériels considérables, l’Office des forages ruraux (OFOR) présente ses sincères condoléances au Khalife Amadou Tidiane Bâ, aux familles des victimes ainsi qu’à l’ensemble de la Oumma islamique.
Cependant, l’OFOR tient à préciser que l’eau ne manque pas à Médina Gounass contrairement à ce qui se dit dans la presse.
En effet, dès que l’incendie s’est déclaré, les agents de l’OFOR se sont déployés immédiatement pour appuyer les éléments des Sapeurs pompiers.
A l’heure, tous les camions citernes sont mobilisés et mis à la disposition des soldats du feu. En plus de ces camions, les agents de l’OFOR se sont joints à ceux des Sapeurs pompiers pour juguler le sinistre.
A ce jour, l’eau est disponible en quantité suffisante dans la localité, malgré l’incendie.
Cette année, le gouvernement, par le biais de l’Office des forages ruraux (OFOR) a mis beaucoup de moyens pour assurer une distribution correcte en eau à Médina Gounass et sur le site du Daaka. 16 camions citernes de 8 à 10m3 ont été mis en place ; 26 bâches à eau livrées pour la circonstance. Le nouveau forage du village de Médina Gounass a été équipé de matériel d’exhaure et d’une potence pour augmenter la production.
Actuellement les deux forages du village de Médina Gounass ainsi que le forage équipé de la potence fonctionnent correctement. Il en est de même pour le forage du Daaka.
