Invitée du Grand Jury de ce dimanche, Penda Mbow, ministre représentante personnelle du chef de l’Etat à la francophonie, a manifesté sa déception face à la pléthore de listes aux législatives du 30 juillet prochain. «C’est une grande déception» a-t-elle confié. Rappelant que «le Sénégal était connu pour la profondeur de sa démocratie, pour la générosité de ses hommes politiques. S’il y a autant de partis, c’est parce qu’il y a une véritable maladie de notre dé- mocratie». Penda Mbow de renchérir : «la crise notée au sein des partis politiques, c’est parce que la démocratie ne fonctionne pas. Les élites politiques ne circulent pas. C’est ce qui donne cette sorte de cacophonie qui est notée», a-t-elle analysé. «Qui est-ce qu’on peut faire avec 47 listes le jour du vote ?» s’interroge Penda Mbow. Cela voudra dire qu’il y aura beaucoup de confusion dans le vote, qu’il y aura une grande abstention et beaucoup ne pourront pas voter. La politique n’a plus ses lettres de noblesse», regrette le professeur d’histoire à l’université.
