Suspendu depuis jeudi dernier, le procès conjoint de l’ancien président ivoirien, Laurent Gbagbo et son ex-ministre de la jeunesse, Charles Blé Goudé a repris, mercredi, à la Cour pénale internationale (CPI) avec la déposition d’un témoin-expert en médecine légale.
«Mon rôle était de vérifier que les opérations d’exhumation des victimes correspondaient aux standards, amener à mes confrères ivoiriens le matériel pour les meilleures conditions de conservation des prélèvements», a-t-il entre autres, expliqué répondant aux questions de l’équipe du procureur.
Le témoin-expert a éclairé la chambre de première instance sur une série de rapports de ses différentes missions en Côte d’Ivoire (29 novembre 2012, 2014 et 2015) dans le cadre de l’expertise médico-légale des victimes de la crise postélectorale ivoirienne de 2010.
Relativement aux victimes de la marche des femmes d’Abobo (Nord d’Abidjan) du 03 mars 2011, l’expert a expliqué avoir effectué des visites au cimetière municipal de ladite commune du 29 novembre au 03 décembre 2012 à la recherche de la tombe de dame Bamba Machiami.
«Il y avait plus de 700 victimes qui ont été exhumées… Les corps exhumés étaient très dégradés», a-t-il révélé s’agissant des corps exhumés par les autorités ivoiriennes dans le cadre de l’expertise médico-légale des victimes de cette crise. Son témoignage intervient après celui de l’ex-chef d’état-major des armées ivoiriennes, le Général Philippe Mankou.
L’audition de celui-ci, qui a duré un peu plus d’une semaine a été précédée par plusieurs dépositions à charge dont celles des ex-chefs des grands commandements de l’armée ivoirienne. Laurent Gbagbo, 72 ans et son ex-ministre de la jeunesse, Charles Blé Goudé, 45 ans, sont poursuivis pour quatre chefs de crimes contre l’humanité commis pendant la crise postélectorale ivoirienne de décembre 2010 à avril 2011. Le procès conjoint des deux hommes s’est ouvert à la CPI en janvier 2016.
