Certains de ses enfants qui vivent en France sont attendus dans les prochaines heures dans la capitale sénégalaise.
Né à Linguère (Région de Louga) le 21 février 1948 et décédé le 14 septembre 2017, il effectue ses études supérieures à la Faculté de droit et de sciences économiques de l’Université de Dakar, puis à l’École nationale d’administration de Dakar.
En 1977 il succède à Moustapha Niasse dans le cabinet du président Léopold Sédar Senghor. Il sera le dernier Directeur de cabinet de Senghor. Après l’accession d’Abdou Diouf à la présidence de la République en 1981, il est ministre sans interruption jusqu’en 1996 dans le gouvernement de la République du Sénégal où il occupera successivement des postes stratégiques.
