La police qui a ouvert une enquête, a auditionné tous les membres de la famille éplorée sauf Mamadou Mansour Diop qui a curieusement disparu de la circulation. Les investigations menées sous la houlette du Commissaire de Diamaguène Sicap-Mbao se poursuit. La police scientifique appelée à la rescousse a procédé à des prélèvements d’empreintes digitales sur le lieu du crime. Dans le cadre de cette affaire, toutes les pistes sont soigneusement examinées par les enquêteurs aux fins de déterminer les circonstances exactes de la mort de l’Imam Diop.
Une cellule de crise chapeautée par le Chef de la police locale a même été installée. Sa mission est de tout faire pour mettre la main sur l’auteur de cet acte de barbarie et de le livrer à la justice.
