Un drame d’une rare cruauté est survenu à la carrière Gécamines de Ngoundiane près de Thiès où des blocs de béton de plus d’une tonne se sont abattus sur le soudeur Lamine Faye, le broyant sur le coup Lamine Faye.
La victime qui habite le village de Diack travaillait dans la carrière de Gecamines où sa mort survenue de façon atroce a surpris ses collègues témoins de l’abattement du bloc de plus d’une tonne de béton sur lamine Faye.
Au moment du drame, Lamine se trouvait à l’intérieur de la fosse où les blocs de béton sont déversés avant le concassage. Donc c’est en soudant des fers à l’intérieur de la fosse que le béton s’est abattu sur lui.
Aucune chance de survie ne lui a été donnée par les blocs qui l’ont broyé. Les sapeurs-pompiers ont eu beaucoup de peine pour extraire son corps.
Ce drame a entraîné chez les collègues de Faye une colère.. Ils ont failli s’en prendre à leur patron, n’eut été l’intervention des éléments de la gendarmerie.
