Amadou Dia Bâ ne brigue plus la présidence de la Fédération sénégalaise d’athlétisme. L’ancien athlète a annoncé le retrait de sa candidature hier par un communiqué repris par Le Quotidien.
«Après avoir analysé la situation, consulté les membres du Collectif (qui le soutenait), j’ai pris la décision de retirer ma candidature au poste de président de la Fédération sénégalaise d’athlétisme», informe le médaillé d’argent aux Jo de 1988.
L’élection du nouveau patron de l’athlétisme sénégalais se tient ce samedi au Cneps de Thiès. Elle opposera finalement Cheikh Tidiane Boye et Sara Oualy. Le président sortant, Momar Mbaye, ne s’est pas représenté.
