Un militaire accusé de faire partie d’un groupe de soldats présumés conspirateurs et sur le point de fomenter une mutinerie a été arrêté.
C’est vendredi que le caporal-chef Mustapha Sanneh a été mis aux arrêts pour participation présumée à la préparation d’une mutinerie au sein de l’armée gambienne.
Moustapha Sanneh serait le septième soldat de l’armée à être arrêté entre juillet et fin août, selon des sources militaires.
Une enquête est en cours et concerne une vingtaine d’autres militaires accusés par l’armée gambienne d’agir pour le compte de l’ex président en exil Yahya Jammeh.
Selon le lieutenant-colonel Omar Bojang, porte-parole de l’armée gambienne, les conspirateurs présumés constituaient une menace réelle sur la paix fragile du pays.
